NAME • Haleigh Jane Carmichael NICKNAME • Hales GENDER • Female AGE • Twenty-one BIRTHDAY • August 15th ETHNICITY • British (UK) SEXUAL ORIENTATION • Heterosexual OCCUPATION(S) • Bartender at Orchid APPEARANCE • Haleigh doesn’t mind her body, not in the slightest. But she has worked her butt of (literally) to get it. Haleigh is one of those gym die-hards. She is always there, if she isn’t modeling or working at her bartending job. She watches what she eats too, although with that she is not as strict. Not as strict as she probably should be. But it doesn’t matter when you’re burning over a thousand calories a day at the gym. She was never good in school, just an average student, so she had to think of some other way to make a living. Prostitution and stripping where both out of the picture because Haleigh didn’t want to degrade herself in that way. So she picked modelling. This is one of the main reasons why her body has remained so slim over the years. She has a great figure for her line of work, and she is fairly tall too, standing at 5’9”. Some people hate the pressures that the modelling business put on someone, but Haleigh loves it. She loves having a goal, having something to work towards. It gives her a purpose and that is what she wants to find in life. Even though she is on medication for her ADD, Haleigh is always on the go. She has to keep her mind busy, and if she is always thinking of ways to burn calories and stay in the shape that she is in, that alone will keep her mind occupied.
Haleigh has bright blue eyes. Her make-up artists love drawing attention to the true blue colour that her eyes naturally are. Haleigh has dirty blonde hair, and depending on where she is in her life, it will be down past her elbows or it will be up higher to her shoulders. Haleigh will never have her hair any shorter than a few inches past her shoulders. She likes to be able to pull it all back into a ponytail, and if it’s any shorter than that – it’s harder to tie it back when she’s in the gym. Haleigh has a few ear piercings in each ear. She doesn’t want to get too carried away with piercings, but she does like two in each ear lobe. She will probably stop with that number. Haleigh doesn’t have any tattoos, but she is tempted to get a few. It doesn’t matter in her line of work if she has one or not, but she is rather picky about things that are permanent. If Haleigh was to get a tattoo, it would have to have meaning to her. In her opinion, tattoos shouldn’t just be meaningless things. She would rather decorate her body with clothes or something else that can be easily removed. Clothes are a big part of Haleigh’s life. She loves being dressed the latest and hottest items, but she won’t put something on her body that will make her look bad. Some fashion styles are just wrong. No, she usually will wear things that make her body look better.
FACE CLAIM • Rosie Huntington-Whiteley PERSONALITY • Many people see Haleigh and immediately jump to the wrong conclusions. Most people think that she is a stuck up, preppy girl that can be a b**ch. Haleigh is very down to earth. Especially what her father has done to her, he took her head out of the clouds – that’s for sure, and showed her just how terrible human beings can really be. Because of that, Haleigh is very considerate of other people. Not only that, but she is not stuck up in any sense. Sure, she likes her body, but she knows that she has flaws. Being ADD is not easy, but it’s just one more thing that makes her an imperfect human. Haleigh doesn’t strive to be perfect, she just wants to be happy. The two things do not often go together however, and Haleigh has learned this growing up in her parent’s mansion back in England. She thought that her parents had it all, but they really didn’t – they didn’t have happiness. Haleigh made a promise to herself that she would never allow her life to get that out of control. She was going to be happy, with whatever she decided to do, and if she wasn’t happy then she would move on to something else. Haleigh is not only concerned about her happiness, but the happiness of others around her as well. Especially her close friends, she is more concerned about keeping them happy around her, than anyone else. She doesn’t think that she is the only one out there, or that she is living in a little bubble. Oh no, Haleigh truly tries to put her closest friends before her own issues. This also has to do with the fact that Haleigh doesn’t like talking about herself or her problems. She is a very modest kind of girl, probably because she saw her mother boasting so much and she grew up to hate it.
So, Haleigh is not your typical bombshell model. She has brains, although she was never really interested in school. If she had continued through she probably would have become a teacher or something along those lines. As much as she doesn’t think about having her own kids, she does enjoy hanging out with kids. She did a lot of babysitting when she was younger. She is also a fairly strong willed girl, which is why as soon as she could, she escaped her family. She moved to Southern Comfort Island to start out new and fresh, to make new friends. She has only been here for a short while, but she is good at making friends. Haleigh always had a lot of friends in school, without really having to try. Even though she is a social butterfly, she doesn’t let people walk all over her. She has a backbone and she isn’t afraid to tell people this. There has been more than enough times when a guy or girl tried to take advantage of her – in some way, shape or form – and she had to fight for her own pride and dignity. It’s happened before and Haleigh expects it to happen again. But it doesn’t mean that she would back down from it. Haleigh is a strong and determined girl and she really cannot stand it when other models complain about how they got forced into something or they did something without really wanting to. She has no sympathy for those girls, unless of course they really had no choice – that they were physically over powered. She just can’t wrap her head around the fact that most of those girls just stand there and let it happen, that they don’t stick up for themselves. But that is how Haleigh has always acted; she has always been a strong girl – no matter what her age.
Even though Haleigh can take life seriously and she makes sure that she is responsible with paying for bills and keeping up her jobs, she does have a fun side to her. Like most models, Haleigh knows how to party it up. She has been to many different types of parties, and even though she might not enjoy all of them, she goes to have a good time. When she makes up her mind that she is going to have fun; nothing can stop her. She can be a bit of a train wreck sometimes, and it depends on the booze that she is drinking, but Haleigh knows how to have a good time. Sure, the hangovers are a b**ch to get over, but she doesn’t complain. That’s another thing that bothers her – when people b**ch and complain about a hangover. She doesn’t see the reasoning behind that, because you did it to yourself – you drank all of that alcohol, so really, the hangover should be no surprise. But anyways, back to partying. Haleigh is smart enough to not let just any guy into her pants, and often her one night stands are far and few between. She hasn’t slept with that many men, despite her access to a lot of gorgeous guys out there. She is smart and she knows that getting a serious disease or illness would ruin her careers and her life. No, even when she is drunk, Haleigh is a bit more responsible than the other models that she goes out to parties with. But Haleigh is a social girl, and she loves hanging out with people – whether there is alcohol being served or not. In Haleigh’s opinion, you don’t need alcohol to have a good time – you just have to be in the right company.
Haleigh is also very opinionated. She has no problem telling you what’s up. Sometimes she is a bit too outspoken (usually after a few drinks) and that can get her into trouble. She can hold up her own in a fight, whether it’s verbal or physical, but she doesn’t enjoy running around starting pointless fights. Her loud mouth used to get her into a lot of fights back at home in England. Fighting seemed to be the only way that those kids would deal with her, back in high school. But it is happening less and less. Haleigh is starting to take the high road more than not. But that doesn’t mean that she has a handle on her mouth, because she hasn’t gained anymore control over that then when she was living in England. If anything, she has more of a mouth now, just because nobody stops her. If she hung out with people that had just the same kind of a loud mouth, then she might tone it down, but she hasn’t met many new people here on the island. Her friends are from the modelling scene, and she has been friends with them for quite a while. Just because she has a loud mouth, doesn’t mean that she isn’t sensitive. There are times when she’s in a good mood and she keeps a comment to herself about someone else. But if she’s in a rotten mood, then you might as well just walk away, because you aren’t going to enjoy what she says to you. She has lost a lot of friends to this loud mouth, but she has also gained a lot of respect from other people. Some people like to be told what is what – Haleigh is one of those girls. She would rather you give her the truth, straight up, instead of sugar coating everything. Life is not a walk in the park, and she knows it.
LIKES • Living on her own, working, shopping, staying on top of the fashion trends, flirting, being around other people, tanning, being outside, being active, modelling, her dog, chocolate, strawberries, her iPhone, talking with people, music, most animals, watching movies, cuddling, driving, playing beach volleyball, bonfires, dancing, putting rude people in their place, her loud mouth, being outgoing, being busy and having money
DISLIKES • Sand between her toes, people who won't mind their own business, stuck up girls/fake girls, raspberries, sitting around doing nothing, sad movies, depressing people, annoying laughs, people who are inconsiderate, hangovers, when her iPhone doesn't work, repetitive lyrics in songs, thunderstorms, having nothing to do, coconut, getting a sun burn, and getting mosquito bites
SECRETS • Haleigh's father was very abusive to her, up until the day that she moved out of her parent's house when she was eighteen years old. Nobody believed her accusations, and whenever she spoke out, her father just abused her even more. So she has extreme trust issues because of this. Haleigh really hates her middle name as well.
FEARS • Her parents finding where she lives, her father abusing her again, and committing herself to a relationship
WEAKNESSES • Her dog, a warm and sunny day, chocolate, a good dancing song, alcohol, a good looking man, and a good sale on clothes/shoes
STRENGTHS • Haleigh is very good about appearing happier than she actually is, dancing, modelling, her job, flirting, and being carefree HISTORY • Haleigh was born on a warm day, on August 15th to be exact. She was the only child of Liam and Scarlet Carmichael. They decided to not have any more children, because Haleigh turned out to be such a handful. She was a good girl, she went to school and she did her homework. But she wanted a social life that was different from her parents. Liam worked at a huge law firm, running and managing that took up most of his time. Scarlet was a retired model, and a secretary for Liam. They had their own personal agendas to deal with and they really didn’t have time to be with Haleigh for long periods in the day. So Haleigh started to hang out with her friends more and more. She didn’t just hang out with people who were of her parent’s class either, she hung out with people who were richer than her, and also who didn’t have as much as her. But she never considered that anything to worry about. Her parents would have a fit, and it was only through them that Haleigh got to learn of her friends’ social class status and all of that garbage. Haleigh could care less. She liked her friends and because of that pure and simple fact; she would continue to hang out with them. She started to get busier when she turned fifteen, when she picked up a few jobs as a model. Haleigh made her mother proud in that sense; that she carried on with a business that her mother had retired out of. Haleigh enjoyed the modelling. She liked the attention and she enjoyed showing off her body. She has been working on her body since she was about fifteen, slowly at first and then just building on it as she aged.
Haleigh was born in England, where her parents are still living. She liked the place although everyone seems a lot more nice here on Southern Comfort Island. When Haleigh turned eighteen she moved out of her parents house and came and lived here on the island. She continued on with her modeling, which was growing at a good rate. Haleigh has enough money in her bank account to be retired at this age, and live comfortably with her earnings. But she picked up another job when she turned twenty-one, just recently, as a bartender. And she continues to work two jobs, to keep herself busy. Haleigh was diagnosed when she was eight years old with attention-deficit disorder. She takes medication for it and has gone to some therapists to learn how to manage her racing thoughts and behaviours. It is something that she deals with on a daily basis, but she sticks to her meds and she lives with it. ADD is not a disorder that will ruin her life or careers, she can continue to model with the diagnosis. You wouldn’t really be able to tell that Haleigh has ADD; she would look like a very active person. She really doesn’t like to sit around and do nothing, she likes to keep herself busy, hence the two jobs. And she has always been this way. When she was a kid, her mother could have enrolled her into swimming, soccer, basketball and even badminton if she wanted to and Haleigh would have been able to stay on top of everything. She likes her down time, sure, and especially when she has her meds then she feels even better. But Haleigh will always be a going kind of girl. This isn’t exactly a bad thing though. She burns more calories and she has productive days.
But anyways, Haleigh moved to Southern Comfort Island, because she had to get away from her parents, particularly her father. Liam abused Haleigh first when she was just six years old. She had done something wrong, coloured on the wall or something harmless and Scarlet had been out shopping for groceries. Liam was always the one to yell at Haleigh and tell her that what she did was very wrong, but this particular time, he got out of hand. Haleigh still can’t quite remember it all that well, she blocked a lot of what happened to her, but she does remember that he used to hit her around – a lot. More than what was necessary, considering Haleigh was a well behaved child. It always happened when Scarlet wasn’t looking, or wasn’t around. A few times Haleigh went to her mother, afraid and hurt, looking for someone to believe in her. Scarlet had turned a blind eye to the whole thing, and she said that she didn’t believe Haleigh – that Haleigh was lying to her. So with all of this anger, frustration and hurt building up, Haleigh came up with a plan. She would wait until her eighteenth birthday – when her parents bought her a car – before she would run away. Money would have been deposited into her bank account, a Carmichael sweet sixteen tradition, money that had been in her savings account, and she would be able to break free. But the pain and sadness that she endured has emotionally traumatized Haleigh. She now refuses to let herself get close to anyone, because her parents were supposed to be the first two people that she should have been able to trust. And they had failed her, that was how she saw it. Her parents had failed at the one most natural job: to parent their only child.
So Haleigh moved to Southern Comfort Island. She is still modelling, and doing very well at it. Her mother tried to contact her for the first week, but after that she stopped calling. Haleigh wasn’t sure what she liked more – that her mother had tried, or that her mother now left her alone. Haleigh refuses to speak to her father, if she ever ran into him again. He hasn’t tried to contact her. The only good thing is that they haven’t found out where she lives, and they haven’t touched her bank account. When Haleigh turned eighteen, she signed documents to state that no money could be transferred out of her bank account with her signature. She didn’t think that her parents would even think to take her money away, but she wanted to make sure that she would never have to depend on them again. She was her own girl, and stronger now because of what she had to go through. It wasn’t easy, living on your own, and especially in a totally different part of the world. Her accent sticks out like a sore thumb, but Haleigh keeps her chin up. If she didn’t, she would crumble and that is the last thing she wants to happen. When Haleigh turned nineteen, a year after moving, she bought her own dog – Rosie. She loves her Doberman dog, who is now two years old. Rosie is sometimes the only company Haleigh has when she is in her apartment room, but it is something she has learned to deal with, and now she doesn’t mind – especially after having a busy day modeling or working as a bartender. Haleigh’s’ biggest fear is that her father will come and find her here and shatter the new life that she has carefully created. She just wants to live in peace, and completely forget about her past… her past is something she never talks about, to anyone.
