Stretching in her bed, Haleigh groaned as a few rays of the morning sun landed on her face, warming her up too much. She tried to roll onto her stomach, but she soon found that she was so tangled in the heavy comforter on her bed that she couldn’t move. She tried just turning her head to the side to avoid the rays, but they were very intrusive and soon her neck and ear were too warm. She was now at a warmth level that screamed uncomfortable, which made her grumble again. Opening her eyes, she lied there for a moment, just blinking at the bright room around her. She had come in late last night, after spending a week away at a model shoot. She was annoyed with these late nights, only because she never seemed to be able to make up for lost sleep. She didn’t have to work today, which was a blessing, but that was also planned. Her boss had scheduled her in for a ten hour shift at Orchid tonight, and she knew that she wouldn’t be able to do it after being away modelling for a week. Most people thought it was easy, but the whole modelling business was so wrapped around perfection that it was a rather stressful time. Sighing, Hales sat up in the bed and looked around. She was living in a hotel room at Le Chateau, and she had to admit that even though it was classy, it didn’t really seem to fit her. She would buy her own house one of these days, but for now the hotel room would suit her just fine. Flinging back the covers, she swung her long, slender legs over the edge of the bed and wriggled her toes on the cool, hardwood floor. It felt relaxing, the cooling sensation, compared to the inferno that she had just been lying in a few seconds prior.
Standing up, she twisted her torso, stretching left and then right. It was part of her small morning ritual. I say small because Haleigh likes to change things up every so often, but her morning ritual has always been there – even if she isn’t in her usual bedroom. Once she felt more relaxed and limber, Hales walked over to the door and opened it up. She padded her barefeet down the hard wooden hallway, to the bathroom. A few minutes later she emerged feeling more refreshed, having washed her face. Heading to the kitchen, Hales looked around, wondering what she would start the day with. She liked to change her morning drink up from time to time. Relying on coffee only seemed weak in her eyes, and Haleigh didn’t want to be perceived as weak, even if she did have her weak moments like other human beings. Deciding on some freshly squeezed orange juice for the moment, Haleigh grabbed a glass from the nearby cabinet and then walked over to the fridge. She was about to reach for the Tropicana orange juice when she realized that the carton wasn’t in there. Blinking, stunned for a moment, Haleigh shut the door and looked around, and spotted the carton on the counter top – near the recycle pile that she had going. “Ugh, great.” She commented, putting the empty glass down on the counter top. She glanced at the clock hanging on the wall, and noted that it was ten o’clock. She decided that she would go to the coffee shop – and that way she could get her orange juice and maybe a muffin or something along those lines. She now had a huge hankering for orange juice now, because she had been denied it now. Walking out of the kitchen, she headed back down the hallway to her bedroom, since she was only in short shorts and a tank top.
Disappearing into her bedroom, she soon emerged wearing a pair of skinny jeans and a pretty tank top. She walked down the hallway and grabbed a pair of flats, stepping into them. She disappeared into the bathroom, forgetting that she hadn’t done anything with her hair yet. She left it in its gentle beach waves, and just applied a soft covering of make up. Once she was satisfied with her appearance, she then headed towards the main door of her apartment. She turned to the bench nearby and grabbed a light jacket, pulling it on. Then she grabbed her purse, which had everything she needed, already in it. She had just dumped it on the bench when she came in last night, not even bothering to take out her phone and charge it. Grabbing her phone, she answered a few unanswered text messages, as she walked through the hotel lobby towards the parking lot. Getting to her car, she unlocked it and slipped in on the leather seat. Putting her purse near her on the passenger side, Haleigh shut the door and then she put her key into the ignition. She grabbed her sun glasses from her purse, putting them on and then backing out of her parking spot. Driving down the road, she headed towards main street where she knew the familiar coffee shop was located. Indicating, Hales pulled into the parking lot and parked near the building. She wasn’t feeling particularly active at the moment, or she would have parked as far away from the building as possible. Hell, she probably would have walked from her hotel room. Haleigh was really into fitness and anything that can keep her in shape. She is usually parking far away from buildings to get a few more walking steps into her day. Fitness is pretty much an obsession for Haleigh, but it’s pretty much harmless, as far as obsessions go.
Entering the store, Haleigh stepped up into line and took a moment to take in her bustling surroundings. It was about ten thirty at this point, and the place was bustling – that’s for sure. People were coming and going rather quickly, all rushing around as if the world was ending. Hales knew that she was one of those people, especially when she did have a busy day. But it was strange being on the other side of it, watching people run around like chickens with their heads cut off. Stepping up to the cash register, Haleigh ordered her orange juice and a blueberry muffin. She paid for it and nodded her thanks when she was handed her change. Haleigh stepped to the end of the counter top and waited for her order to appear. Once it did, she turned and raised her eyebrows. There weren’t many spots open for her to choose from. Haleigh spotted the last open table and she made her way over to it. She sat down and put her muffin and juice on the table top. She put her purse down on an empty chair, since she was sitting at a table with four chairs. She left her phone out though, and as she unwrapped her muffin, she got a few text messages. She stopped unwrapping the muffin, and picked up her phone. She answered her texts, and smiled as one of her modelling friends made a joke about last night. Once she was finished answering, she continued to unwrap her muffin. It was still too warm to eat, so she shook her orange juice bottle and then twisted off the cap. She took a few sips of the refreshing, cool liquid and she smiled, sighing with satisfaction. This was what Hales had needed. Even though it was crazy busy right now, she found peace and relaxation with this simple orange juice.
