It was Friday night. Not only was it a Friday night, but Hales had the night off. She wasn’t bartending, and she wasn’t modelling this weekend. That meant that she could actually go out and enjoy herself; which she hasn’t really been able to do for a few months or so. Her modelling career has really taken off, which surprised Haleigh. She thought that moving to this island would cause people to forget about her, but now it’s almost as if she’s more desirable here. Not that they do any shoots here on the island. No, Haleigh is still flying all over the world to do shoots here and there. But she loves it. She loves showing off her hard work on her body. She hadn’t always been this fit. When she was younger she struggled with a weight problem. Part of the reason was her parents didn’t know how to feed a kid, and the other reason was that Haleigh has a sweet tooth. She still does, but it is moderated now. She had to wean herself off of chocolate, her main weakness, but now she allows herself once a week where she can have some. It works for her, she doesn’t put on extra weight. But she does eat filling meals too – she doesn’t just eat a salad for lunch. She has always had a good appetite, and because of that, she just watches what she eats. But she will eat a good plate sized meal at every meal. Sometimes she goes and works out twice a day, if she is really eating a lot, but most of the time it’s once a day, with Sundays off. If she is at a photo shoot she will go for a jog or something while she’s away, but she does love working out. She’s a bit addicted to it, especially since she has amazing results from it.
Sitting on her couch in her hotel room, Haleigh went online on her Mac laptop and started a few conversations with some friends. She could have texted them, but this was easier, especially since she had already been on the laptop for a while now. She had taken the day nice and easy. First, she ate a protein rich breakfast and then hit the gym. Then she went and got a manicure and pedicure, a treat to herself for not blowing all of her money on clothes this month. And then she headed back here, where she ate lunch and now she’s been parked on her butt for the afternoon. Normally she didn’t do this. Hales liked to keep active, and part of that was her ADD. Haleigh couldn’t help but be active, but it worked to her benefit, and ever since she had taken regular pills for her ADD, she has got it under control. Finding a few friends that were down for partying tonight, Haleigh said that she would be at Orchid at around 8:00pm. She then signed off and closed the laptop screen, carefully of course. Her hard earned money from modelling and bartending had gotten her this laptop and she took good care of it. Stretching, Haleigh reached over to the coffee table and grabbed her fruit smoothie. She downed the last of it, and then got up from the couch. The smoothie helped a lot whenever she was craving sweets, like right about now. usually in the afternoon she always craved a little boost from some chocolate or sugar; but she would ignore the craving. She had to. She has come so far, she didn’t want to throw it all away from a weak moment. She had way too much will power to allow herself to cave in to something like that.
Walking into the kitchen, Haleigh rinsed out the glass and she placed it on the counter. She would have to do some dishes soon, but for now they could sit there. She was lazy in some aspects, as you can see. Dishes and laundry were so boring for Hales. She would much rather be doing something more stimulating. Glancing at the clock to find that it was almost five, Haleigh wandered out of the kitchen and down the little hallway that held three doors. One door was to her bedroom, the other a linen closet and the last a bathroom. Haleigh walked into her bedroom first, and she took off the short shorts and tank top she had been bumming around in. When she was in her hotel room, all by herself, she was going to wear what she darn well pleased. Once she rid herself of her clothes, Haleigh grabbed a nearby silk robe and she put it on, tying the belt at her narrow waist. It was a deep purple colour and she loved it. She has had it for years, a Christmas gift from one of her aunts who was also in the modelling business. It was so soft on her skin, it completely relaxed her when she had it on. Walking out of her bedroom, she opened the closet door and grabbed a clean, purple towel, one that matched her robe. And then she walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind her. She put the towel on an empty rack near the shower, and then she took off her robe, hanging it on the back of the door. She then proceeded to take a shower, rinsing off her body, lathering up and then rinsing off again. She took her time, because this was a bit early to get ready, but she didn’t have anything else to do.
Once she was finished with showering, she towelled herself off and then wrapped the towel around her body, tucking it up under her armpits. She grabbed her robe from the back of the door but didn’t put it on, since her skin was still damp. She left her long, blonde hair down in wet ringlets. Walking out of the bathroom, she grabbed another towel from the closet for her hair and then she shut that door. She disappeared into her bedroom, closing the door behind her. Haleigh glanced over at her large Doberman dog, Dynamite (Dyna for short). She was passed out on Haleigh’s bed, and had been all afternoon. Haleigh smiled at her, and then hung up the robe on the back of the door. She quickly wrapped up her hair in the other towel she had grabbed, and then she walked over to her bed. Dyna lifted her head, and if she had been standing, her little tail would have been wagging away. Hales smiled and sat down next to her, stroking her dog’s head. She spent a lot of time with Dyna, and often would bring her when she went away modelling – if she could. She had already taken Dyna out for a walk, before breakfast, which meant that Dyna was going to be sleeping all day. She was an energetic dog, but if she got her daily walk, she was fine. Half the time Hales didn’t even know Dyna was in the house with her, she was so quiet and laid back. Which is exactly the kind of dog that Haleigh needs with her, because she is more high strung and if she had a dog along the same lines, well… it wouldn’t be pretty. It wouldn’t be nearly as calming as having Dyna around her. Haleigh had to remind herself that Dyna was young, only two years old.
Watching as Dyna put her head back down to sleep some more, Hales smiled and shook her head. Her dog was as lazy as she was active, but somehow it worked between them. Getting up, Haleigh walked over to the closet and opened up the doors. It was a large walk in closet. Walking deeper into it, she looked around, running her hands over all of her dresses and clothes. She didn’t quite know what to wear tonight. She didn’t want to be too risqué, but on the other hand, she wanted to look good. She normally would wear a dress when she went out clubbing, it was just part of her clubbing outfit. So she moved over to the dress section of her closet, and tried to think of what colour she was feeling for tonight. She was probably going to curl her hair, so that knocked out a few of the busier dresses. She wanted a simple dress to go with her curled hair. Her eyes landed on a bright red dress. She pulled it out, and spun it around in front of herself. She had a lot of clothes and sometimes she needed a refresher of what she actually had. She decided the strapless red dress would be just fine. She walked back to the doors of the closet and hung the dress up there. Next were the shoes. Haleigh figured that with a red dress like that, some leopard print shoes would be perfect. She grabbed the right box, and pulled them out. She always left her shoes in the boxes; figuring that they were the most protected from anything in there. Putting the box of shoes on her bed, she smiled as Dyna lifted her head – sniffing the box and then going back to sleep.
Hales left the bedroom, leaving the door open, and walking into her bathroom. She plugged in her curling iron and then took the towel off of her head. She shut the bathroom door and hung the damp towel on the back of it, not wanting to leave it somewhere where it would just get smelly. She then turned her attention on her hair. For the next hour or so, she combed out her hair, blow dried it and then she curled it. She did those soft kind of curls, not ringlets. Her hair was long, past her elbows and she enjoyed curling it. The curls would stay in, but either way she applied some hairspray to keep her hair the way she liked it. Once she was finished with all of that, she unplugged the iron and put her blow dryer, hair brush, comb and hairspray away. She didn’t like leaving that stuff out and lying around because she would trip over a cord or do something clumsy with stuff that was left lying about. Next on her to-do list was make up. Walking back into her bedroom, Haleigh took off her damp towel and put on her robe again. She was slightly chilled for leaving that damp towel on for so long, which she hadn’t meant to do. Walking back to the bathroom, Haleigh hung up the other towel on another empty rack so that it would dry out properly. She then turned her attention to her face. She carefully washed, and moisturized her face. Then she added some foundation, blush, mascara, eye liner and eye shadow. She kept everything in neutral colours, because she didn’t want to have too much going on with her face. She wanted people to be looking at her body tonight, with that bright red dress on and leopard print shoes. Haleigh never put too much make up on, not like when she was on the runway.
Satisfied with how she looked, she walked back to her bedroom and glanced at the time. It was almost seven o’clock. She still had some time, and she wanted to eat before she went out, so she stayed in her robe. She left the bedroom light on and the door open, and walked down the little hallway to where the kitchen was. She rummaged around in the fridge and found some left over pizza, that wasn’t too old, only a few days. She grabbed the container and put it on the counter. Next appeared a plate from a nearby cupboard and she put two slices of pizza on the plate, which was all she could fit on there. She put the plate in the microwave and punched in the time. Leaning against the counter top, she folded her arms, waiting for her pizza to be ready. She was suddenly very hungry; now that she was thinking about food. Hales had a very good appetite. She could out eat some guys that she used to hang out with. People always wondered where the food went, but Haleigh knew if she didn’t have such a good metabolism, she would be screwed. Working out can only do so much when you eat like a pig. Moving away from the counter when the microwave beeped, Haleigh grabbed her plate and brought it to the island in her kitchen. She sat down on a bar stool and waited impatiently for the pizza to cool. She didn’t want to burn her tongue, but the pizza looked so tempting, with steam rolling off of it. The aroma made her stomach rumble. Finally she was able to eat the pizza, after testing it with her finger, and so she dug right in. Two more slices after, Haleigh sat back on the bar stool and sighed. She had four slices and now she was full.
Haleigh glanced at the time and was pleased to note it was time to get dressed and go. She quickly grabbed a glass of water and drank the whole thing down, washing her food down. Then she put the glass near the sink, along with her empty plate and she put the left over pizza back into the fridge. Walking out of the kitchen; she headed back to her bedroom. This time she closed the door, and shook her head with a smile when she realized that Dyna hadn’t moved at all. Getting changed out of the robe into her dress and then high heels, Haleigh looked in her full-length mirror, making sure that nothing was out of place. She was pretty picky when it came to how she looked out in public and tonight was no exception. She was going to have a good time, she could feel it right now. Turning to Dyna, Haleigh spoke up. “Alright you, behave. I will be back later on.” Haleigh walked over and stroked Dyna’s head. She then turned to leave the room and was surprised to hear Dyna get up, jump off of the bed and walk past her. She shrugged and followed her dog to see where she was going. Dyna made a beeline for the food bowl that was located in the kitchen. Hales peered around her and made sure that both the food and water bowls were full. “See ya later girl.” She said and then grabbed her black clutch, making sure she had the necessities in it. She left a few lights on and then she was gone – heading out of her hotel room and down the hallway to the lobby. It was nice having a room on the first floor, because she doubted Dyna would like the elevators. She could only imagine people’s reaction to Dyna being in them.
Getting to her car, Hales got into the driver’s seat and put her clutch on the seat beside her. She then shut the door, started the engine and took off – heading towards Orchid. She was excited, she was ready to get her drink on. And most importantly she was ready for a good time with her girls. Pulling into the parking lot, she found a spot, parked her car and cut the engine. Walking away from her car, she stepped into the line that was growing by the second, and she pulled out her ID. She hated doing this part, even though she worked here, but when she wasn’t working she had to wait in line just like everyone else. Flashing her ID when it was her time, Haleigh smiled at the bouncers because she knew both of them. Sauntering into the club, she tucked her ID away and headed right to the bar. “Hey. I’ll have a Cosmo, please.” She knew the bartender, but she didn’t know his name though. Once she got her drink, Haleigh sat down and handed over the correct change. ‘Nah, first drink is on me.’ Haleigh pulled her money back, surprised. She shrugged and smiled. “Well thank you.” She said, lifting the glass and winking at him. “Cheers.” Her British accent always attracted people’s attention. It was thick and she didn’t care. She honestly didn’t really know that she had an accent, but she has been told over the years that it hasn’t faded at all. Taking a sip from the drink, she sighed. This was what she needed. She loved her Cosmos, they were a great c*cktail. Sitting at the bar, she waited to see when her friends would show up. She hoped they would be soon, because she didn’t want to sit here on her own for much longer. If they didn’t show up soon, she would head out to the dance floor.
